Advanced Signs New and Events

FERRYSBURG — Motorists will have a new tool on Ferrysburg city streets to help them find their way around the city in the coming months.

The City Council recently gave approval for City Manager Craig Bessinger to spend up to $10,000 on the first phase and up to an additional $5,000 for the second phase.

The first-phase signs will direct motorists to city buildings, parks, schools, public waterfront and important landmarks, which will include Lake Hills Elementary School in Spring Lake and charter schools Walden Green Montessori and West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics. The second phase involves signs for events such as the Fourth of the July and city festivals.

The council accepted the bid for 12 signs from Advanced Signs Inc., a Ferrysburg company. Bessinger said the first phase should be completed in the next few months, and the second phase by summer.
